The weather’s turning colder, but that doesn’t mean you need to stay at home. Stop by the library for some fun this month!

NaNoWriMo Support Group: Tuesdays @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Starting October 26th

NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, a fun challenge that’s happened every November since 1999. The goal, to write 50,000 words of a novel in thirty days! Thousands of people around the world take the challenge every year. Are you ready to become one of them?

If you are, you don’t have to go it alone. We’re here to help! Drop in and join us each week to brainstorm ideas, chat with fellow Wrimos, and support one another. No registration required.

For more information on the NaNoWriMo, and to sign up for the challenge, visit the offical NaNoWriMo site.

Carm’s Classics Club – ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’: October 27 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Don’t panic! It’s the return of Carm O’Neill Classics Club, an all-ages book discussion group! This month we will be reading and discussing The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (215 pages, published in 1979).

Synopsis: It’s an ordinary Thursday morning for Arthur Dent… until his house gets demolished. The Earth follows shortly after to make way for a new hyperspace express route, and Arthur’s best friend has just announced that he’s an alien. After that, things get much, much worse…

All are welcome. This book is recommended for ages 14 and up. Refreshments will be served. Copies of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy will be available for pickup at the library’s Young Adult desk for participants. Space is limited. Click to register.
