Volunteers help the library in many ways! Volunteer tasks include writing book reviews, helping with programs, tidying shelves, and light clerical tasks. We welcome volunteers with different abilities and skills.

Volunteers are chosen according to their skills, the availability of supervision by library staff and the needs of the library. All volunteers must be 12 years old or older.

Interested in lending a hand? Visit our volunteer portal on Get Connected to get started!

Please read the Volunteer Guidelines for more information. Questions? Please email YA Librarian Darcy Sowers at ya@chboothlibrary.org.

Young adults! Need community service hours? Want to get involved in the library?
Join The Young Adult Council!

The Young Adult Council (YAC) is a group of teens in grades 6 and up. We meet once a month to plan programs, choose books, create displays and work on projects to help the library.

YAC will begin meeting in person on the third Thursday of each month starting in October from 4:00 – 4:45. Come join us! Please fill out the Volunteer Application and return it in person at the YA circulation desk or via email at ya@chboothlibrary.org.

Volunteers should be between the ages of 12 and 19.
