New Book Collection: “Welcoming Library”

Posted on

Thanks to a grant from the Friends of the Library, the library was able to purchase very special collection of books called the Welcoming Library.  The Welcoming Library is a portable collection of acclaimed picture books chosen to spark conversations about immigration, belonging and welcoming. Children’s picture books were selected because they are accessible to people of all ages and most English language abilities. The stories and information shared in these books can lay the groundwork for cross-cultural communication, act as a springboard for conversations on modern immigration and build emotional connections to a diversity of voices. We hope you will check out these titles to share with friends and family. You will find the collection on the lower level next to the children’s department.
