Free Family Concert August 6 Moving to Edmond Town Hall
Grammy-nominated children’s musician Judy Pancoast will bring the fun with her lively concert of clever, all-original music. Come prepared to sing, dance, and swim in Jello! Thanks to the Friends for supporting the Tuesday Tunes concert series. Due to the possibility of thunderstorms this afternoon, the concert will take place at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown.
Summer Reading for Kids ages 4-Grade 5
Sign up for Summer Reading at the Children’s Circulation Desk. Each child will receive 8 BINGO sheets, wildflower seeds and 2 tickets to a Westerner’s Baseball game. Complete BINGO in any direction and fill in the raffle ticket at the bottom of the sheet. Place your entry in one of our raffle prize boxes in the children’s department for a chance to win a gift card for toys, ice cream, crafts and books. Read anything you want, just read! New Date! Meet the Author: Yvette Cole
When educator Yvette Cole struggled to find a book to read to her class that was based on black history for younger audiences that was also fun and engaging, Yvette was inspired to write her first children’s book. Harriet’s Dinner Party, tells the story of ten-year-old Destiny who unknowingly steps into a new world where she has dinner at Harriet Tubman’s house along with other prominent African American Civil Rights heroes. A related craft follows the book reading. Signed paperback copies of “Harriet’s Dinner Party,” will be available for purchase for $15. For ages 6-10 with an adult partner. Register here.
Bring Your Bear to the Library Saturday, June 17
Bring your favorite stuffed bear to the library this Saturday, June 17th for bear stories with Miss Nora at 11am. Prize cards from the Beardsley Zoo for the first 20 children to bring in their bear–or another favorite stuffed animal. No registration required!
