SBA at the Brown Bag Business Hour
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s CT District Office has partnered with the C.H Booth Library and Connecticut Procurement Technical Assistance to offer two free seminars for small business owners and those thinking about entering the world of entrepreneurship:
April 11: Are You A Woman-Owned Small Business?
This session will cover all aspects of what qualifies you as a woman-owned business: how do you know if you are, do you need to be certified, and what are the State, Federal Government and private sector requirements when it comes to contracting.
May 9: Contracting 101
This seminar will cover where you need to be registered in order to do business with the State of Connecticut and the Federal Government. You will be shown the websites for locating federal bids over $25,000 and the State’s bid portal where State and Municipal bids can be found. Also covered will be State and Federal set-aside programs.
The Brown Bag Business Hour is held on the second Tuesday of the month in the library’s Meeting Room. Bring your lunch and business cards; no registration necessary. For more information, contact the Reference desk at (203) 426-8552 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
