Genealogy Manuscript File Index

Julia E. C. Brush Genealogical Collection

Cyrenius H. Booth Library, Newtown, CT

The Genealogy Room at Newtown’s C. H. Booth Library includes a collection of manuscript material dating largely from the late 18th and early 19th century. The collection focuses on Newtown, but includes records from some surrounding towns and even more remote areas. The collection includes church records, political party rolls, bills and receipts for town accounts, military service rolls, original deeds and much more. Files are organized by subject and are held in locked file drawers in the Genealogy Room. In addition to the subject files, indexed here, there is a collection organized by family name, representing (mostly) the early families of Newtown.

This every-name index to the subject files is provided first by name and then by item (topic) in alphabetical order.
