CoverOfPlanLibrary Announces New Strategic Plan

The Cyrenius H. Booth Library announces a dynamic new Strategic Plan that will guide Newtown’s public library through the next three years. President of the Board of Trustees Robert Geckle said, “We are proud to present this strategic plan to our residents.  The priorities within this plan emerged through the involvement of over 1,000 members of the Newtown community.  Our plan is to focus on meeting community needs through library services that position the library as a connector, convener, partner, community hub, and a place to learn in community with one another.”

As part of the strategic planning process, the Board of Trustees adopted a new mission statement: “The Cyrenius H. Booth Library’s mission is to promote the joy of lifelong learning, stimulate curiosity, support the exchange of ideas, and provide a welcoming gathering place for our community.”

Library Director Brenda McKinley said, “We thank all of those who participated in this community-wide effort to develop a plan that supports a vision where Newtown residents can collaborate freely and engage one another to enrich, attract, and grow human capital.”
